A Little Guy, A Big Milestone: A Golf-Themed First Birthday Session (Christopher Illinois)

From those sleepy newborn days to his very first birthday, getting to photograph this little guy again has been such a joy.

I first met him for his newborn session, and then had the chance to photograph his family outdoors when he was around 8 months old. Now here we are celebrating the milestone that somehow arrived so quickly, ONE!

And for his first birthday session, we had to make it completely him.

With a tiny golf cart, golf balls, the cutest little golfer outfit, and plenty of personality, this birthday setup was the perfect way to celebrate his first year.

I love when a birthday session can incorporate something meaningful to the family or a little piece of what makes their child unique. It turns the photos into more than just birthday portraits and they become a snapshot of who they were at one year old.

And watching him grow from his newborn session, to those 8-month family photos, and now into this happy little one-year-old was such a sweet reminder of just how quickly babies change.

Those sleepy newborn cuddles turn into busy little hands. Those tiny stretches become curious little adventures. And before you know it, you’re celebrating their very first birthday.

What a privilege it is to be invited back to photograph these milestones and watch a family grow right in front of my camera.
