Three siblings. Three little personalities. One beautiful piece of childhood frozen in time.

There’s a certain kind of magic that happens when siblings are simply allowed to be themselves in front of the camera. The big brother naturally stepping into his role, the younger ones following along, the giggles, the movement, and those little moments that happen when they forget anyone is watching.

These are the photographs that tell more than what a family looked like on one particular day. They capture how their children interacted, who they were at that age, and what this season of life felt like.

I’ve had the privilege of photographing this family since their oldest was just 10 months old. Getting to watch him grow and then capture all three siblings together is one of the greatest parts of being a photographer.

For this session, we headed to the Tall Pines near Twin Oaks in Benton, Illinois. Surrounded by towering trees and soft evening light, we kept things relaxed and let the children lead the way.

No need for complicated poses or perfectly behaved children. Just three siblings being themselves, surrounded by the people who love them most.

Whether your children are still tiny, growing like weeds, or somewhere in between, this season deserves to be remembered. Because they won’t stay this little and someday, you’ll look back at these photographs and remember exactly who they were right now.
